Jo Munroe

Since 2005, Jo began a career in Recruitment. Initially in Construction Temps and then over to Commercial and Social Care. She then took a back of house position as a HR Advisor.

Jo subsequently took start up Human Resources roles in Chemical distribution, Rail, Engineering, Medical Devices and Aluminium distribution. In all these industries she helped to support each business to build and develop their HR functions.
Jo’s passion is supporting companies with people strategy and getting the most from their teams and creating great cultures and her main aim is to ensure people feel happy and supported in the roles and also have a commercial perspective on what works best for the business.


Jo regularly recieved feedback that she is not like most HR professionals and can deal with situations with sensitivity and with the focus on a productive work environment. Over the past 3 years she has supported a variety of businesses, with HR administration, Training and Development plan, People planning, Benefits and Compensation plans, performance and appraisals, Employee Relations, Engagement and Communication, process and policy compliance, Wellbeing, Recruitment, Payroll, Culture, Diversity, inclusion and Equality, and Talent Management.


Jo is very passionate about gaining more interest in Engineering and STEM careers in children. Recruiting for Engineering roles is becoming more difficult. By getting children more interested in STEM activities, we are helping to develop a talent pool for the future.

About Jo!
Jo studied a design degree at Nottingham Trent University and gained a 2:1 Hons. Following university she started a role in recruiting, Looking after 10 sites across the Nottinghamshire area with 250 construction temps.

She then moved to Manchester with the same agency and moved onto a permanent construction desk. After discovering the sales side of recruiting wasn’t her strong point, she moved to another agency and began a role back of house in a HR Advisor position. She was lead in the role by an Employment Lawyer, where she gained a verity of experience in HR practice and legal compliance.
After the birth of her first son, she moved back to the Sheffield area to be closer to family and took on a role in HR Management. The companies she worked with were mainly American owned, which developed her experience in Employee engagement, Wellness and organisational development.

In 2020 Jo decided to become self employed to enable her to work with a variety of businesses to develop their HR functions.
Jo is also a governor for a local school and is the STEM and anti-bullying Governor. Most of her spare time is spent with her three boys who keep her really business with all their sporting commitments and general outdoors activities.
